I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, working in a successful private practice in central Bristol BS1 and Keynsham BS31. I work with individual clients and my therapeutic focus is on helping adults being challenged by bereavement, loss or grief, depression and anxiety, illness, low self-esteem or confidence, painful break-ups, separation or divorce.
The aim of our sessions is to help you have a better understanding of yourself, which in turn will help you deal with the feelings that are encroaching on your current life.Therapy is a joint enterprise. I see the role of the counsellor as that of a confidential and compassionate collaborator, supporting you towards solutions that are not imposed by me, but come from within you.
Integrative-Relational Counselling
As an integrative counsellor I use a number of approaches depending on what seems appropriate for you and your particular issues. As a relational counsellor I draw on the dynamics which happen within the therapeutic relationship between you as a client, and me as a therapist, as a means to better understanding the relationships in your life. By understanding more about yourself, and increasing your self-awareness within a supportive and confidential therapeutic relationship, you may gain fresh insights into your life and patterns of behaviour. This will offer you the opportunity to see your concerns in a different light, and perhaps reveal to you new ways of coping.
My experience includes working with adults with a broad diversity of ages and backgrounds in the NHS sector and in private practice. I have worked with a range of issues, from challenging relationship or family dynamics, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence to career related difficulties or stress. I have worked with senior clients facing retirement, isolation and loneliness.
I have a special interest in bereavement, grief and loss and can help with what can be a very difficult time in your life.
I offer face to face, Zoom video and telephone counselling sessions. I am a certified online and telephone counsellor and can deliver remote counselling competently.
